The 2010 European Grand Prix id held on the Valencia's city streets and along the picturesque port and this is a wonderful opportunity to visit one of Spain’s most vibrant cities. Valencia, the capital of its province and the third largest city in Spain, is perfectly located on the east coast with a Mediterranean climate and culturally so much to offer.

  • You can trace the city’s history in the cuisine too – Valencia is the birthplace of paella and each town and village has its own special recipe.
  • The Valencia Grand Prix track is easily accessible by public transport and entrance to the Formula One grandstands is well planned and efficiently operated. At the end of the European F1 you can take your time and avoid the rush back to town and be on the beach with a refreshing brew in just 5 minutes!
  • The city comes alive at night, but not until around 9pm when bars and restaurants start to fill and people come out to enjoy the cool of the evening. Plenty of time to do some sightseeing, shop, sample some tapas dishes or simply enjoy the pre-race atmosphere. Modern meets old - very true in Valencia.
  • Lush, green gardens and water features were important to the Moors – spaces to escape the heat of the Mediterranean sun and to sit under shady trees – and Valencia has many parks and gardens, much loved and well used by the inhabitants.

The inaugural Valencia Grand Prix race was a master class by Felipe Massa who dominated from pole position and survived a very close shave with Andrian Sutil in the pit lane. Alonso, unlucky in front of a home crowd, met his end on the first lap and Raikkonen’s engine exploded well into the race, although he was never a real threat. F1 Championship contenders Hamilton and Kubica came home second and third
