The 2011 Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix will be hosted at Istanbul Park Circuit on the Asian side of Istanbul, 6 km from the junction of Kurtkoy on the north side of TEM Motorway, linking Istanbul to Ankara . The Circuit is close to the newly constructed Sabiha Gokcen Istanbul Airport. Bernie Ecclestone purchased the race track in 2008. It takes approximately 40mins to get to the race track by car.
The F1 track runs counter-clockwise and is 5,378m long. It is composed of 13 turns, of which 6 are right turns and 7 left. The sharpest turn will have a radius of 15m. The start and finish section is 655.5m in length. The F1 Circuit runs over 4 level sections with rising and descending grades. The top speed in last year's race was 330 km/H by McLaren driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
